MATERECTOMY
Body horror film exploring themes of parenthood, body image, and self harm.
DEVELOPMENT
Materectomy was selected as a London Film School Term 4 project, directed by MA Filmmaking student Barbara Kononova.
It was a unique learning experience operating under the constraints of both a director and producer. This project taught me lots about the processes of a writer. Working through the draft stages towards a specific project aim.
At the same time, the resources of LFS allowed for a phenomonal project and end product. Shooting on 35mm film, on a purpose built set, with working professional actors was a step up for all of us, but I think we absolutely rose to the challenge!
